Join LE and Matt Crookshank for the exhibition of two circular paintings in “crazyeights”. Crookshanks work draws on the collision of abstraction and new digital technologies. A professional animator by trade, Crookshank allows his digital and computer knowledge to inform his paintings. Crookshank paints abstract narrative that function as the breath between sentences, the unspoken periods, the indent. Often attempting to paint the structure of existence, the biology, the anxiety, the illusions, and the dreams that disappear before we wake up. Crookshank was also the director of the legendary sis boom bah gallery in Toronto for 6 years He is represented by LE in Toronto, and SKEW, in Calgary. His work has been written about in The Globe and Mail, The National Post, The Toronto Star, Now Magazine, Xtra, Eye Weekly, and Hive Magazine, among others.
