No Poetry
Sarah Clifford-Rashotte
From June 2nd to June 27th
Opening June 4th, 2010 from 7-10pm
No Poetry, Sarah Clifford-Rashotte’s third solo show at LE Gallery, features semi-autobiographical works that explore the intersection of drawing, photo and text. Using a diaristic voice, notions of truth, myth and shifting identity are reflected in these aesthetically innovative works. Self-preservation and obliteration are expressed through the treatment of personal text and female figures. Her first limited edition publication (released June 2010) also entitled No Poetry, a companion piece to the show, is an abstract collection of images and writings that inform her drawing practice. This year, Sarah was a nominee for the Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts-Artist Prize. Opening June 4th, 2010 from 7-10pm
