The Longest of Memories

The Longest of Memories

Megan McCabe

From May 9th to May 31st
Opening May 9th, 2015 from 2-5pm

Saudade, a deep longing for something that may or may not have ever existed, a yearning for an absent something or someone that may never return, and a desire and wistfulness for something other then the present.

Megan McCabe’s most recent body of work, featured in the exhibition The Longest of Memories continues to focus on the presence of figures in environments evocative of personal, yet shared reflective moments. Both large works on canvas, and small intimate framed works on un-stretched canvas reveal McCabe’s kinship with a shared yearning, to seek undiscovered personal truths, and/or to lift the veil on an obscured memory. McCabe stays committed to exploring the negotiation between nature’s multifaceted power and our role within it physically and psychologically. McCabe was shortlisted for the 2014 RBC Painting Competition and marks her fifth solo exhibition with LE Gallery.
