WORKS WITH PAPER

LE Gallery is pleased to open its first exhibition bringing together works by artists of historical significance and contemporary artists represented by LE Gallery whose work utilize paper in different ways. Whether it be works directly on paper in ink, gouache, or paint, or works which manipualte the surface of various paper media, this exhibition serves to provide a survey of the pracitices of artists in Canada. The last 60 years have seen works on paper as an integral part of the work and prepartions in the studio of these artists. A particular immediacy and honesty emotes from the surfaces of these works.

In collaboration with Canadian Fine Arts Gallery, LE Gallery believes the contemporary artists of today benefit from an alignment with the trajectories of works throughout the history of visual culture in Canada. Look forward to future shows which bring together important works of historical arts with their living contemporaries.
